Activities

  • Establishment of a nursery of Kokuso 21, within the USAMV CN. Planting over 2000 seedling cuttings (Morus latifolia) to obtain a high quality plant material.

  • Participation of Prof. Daniel Dezmirean at the Executive Committee meeting of the International Commission for sericulture / ISC (Melbourne / Australia, 20 to 23rd February 2017).

  • Participation of Dr. Adela R. Moise and Dr. Florina M. Copaciu at Post Cocoon Technology Training, organized by ISC at the Central Silk Technological Research Institute (CSTRI), Bangalore / India, 16-26 April 2017.

  • Organizing, within the USAMVCN, the annual rearing of silk worms in order to preserve and improve the Romanian gene pool

    • The purpose of the rearing: keeping the gene pool of the Bombyx mori species and obtaining egg layings free of pathogens (selling to breeders)

    • CGECAS-PPM holds 50 races / hybrids of silkworms (Romania, Bulgaria, Japan, Korea, China)

    • Involvement of students from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Biotechnologies in practical activities (feeding, changing the laying, sampling)

  • Dissemination of biological material to silkworm farmers from country teritory
